Chitkara Educational Trust was founded by Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara in the year 1998 and had been established with clear mission to pursue excellence in all fields of education and to adhere to the highest standards of academic rigor in all its work.
Based in Chandigarh - the City Beautiful, Chitkara has grown tremendously during the last few years and is fast moving towards attaining leadership position in North India, which speaks volumes about our enduring commitment, outstanding faculty and rich learning environment. The ambition of our founders is seeing fruition as all the constituent colleges are making a positive contribution to the development of individuals, institutions and societies facing the challenges of change.

Chitkara University is a dream envisioned and realised by Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara. They are academicians dedicated to the mission of spreading Education. They have created a congenial environment which stimulates growth, learning and self-actualization.

Born in Sept 1952, Dr. Ashok Chitkara has created benchmarks for generations to come. He made his foray into the field of Mathematics by doing B.Sc (Hons School) Mathematics, M.Sc (Hons) Mathematics from Delhi University. He was also awarded Gold Medal in his M.Sc. (Mathematics) for topping the Delhi University. He then went on to pursue his B.Ed, M.Ed and Ph. D, which chiseled him to perfections for teaching as a career. He has to his name the credit of contributing 25 research papers in various journals.
Dr. Ashok Chitkara started his career, spanning 31 year in teaching started in 1976 as PGT (Mathematics) at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, and then after completing his Ph.D in Mathematics from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak in 1985, he became a Reader of Mathematics at The Department of Evening Studies in Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Dr. Madhu Chitkara is one of the co-founders of Chitkara Educational Trust, an organization of great repute & distinction in the field of education. An eminent academician and an innovative entrepreneur, she articulated and designed the road map for the Trust and has actively contributed to its tremendous growth and recognition in all these years.
With a passion for academics and great business acumen, she has had a diversified career & variegated experience in the field of education spanning 35 years. She is highly knowledgeable, focused, a strategic leader and has a passion for excellence. She has adeptly managed numerous academic ventures and remains a true leader who leads by example, is warm, sincere and always willing to walk the extra mile to deliver on promises
